Statement of Faith

We believe God's Word in the Bible

is the best plan for life.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God. The Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the Old and New Testaments pointing to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

"Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action)” 2 Timothy 3:16 AMPC

We believe that there is One God, eternally existing in three persons and revealed to the world in God the Father, God the Son, Jesus Christ,

and God the Holy Spirit. By Whom all things were created.

Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

Matthew 28:19 AMPC

We believe that God the Father sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem all. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life on this earth, performed many undeniable miracles, was crucified for our sins, buried and was raised from the dead for our justification. By the name of Jesus Christ, and His name only, can humanity be saved. Jesus Christ sits at the Right Hand of the Father and will return personally

in power and glory to receive His Church unto Himself.

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”

John 3:16 AMPC

We believe all human beings are created in the Image of God and therefore have inherent value and dignity. God invites humanity into the vocation of faithful stewardship over God’s creation and to function as mirrors of our loving, eternal Creator.

“So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Genesis 1:27 AMPC

We believe that humanity is sinful by nature and will perish without the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as revealed in His Gospel. That God wishes that no one should perish, but that all would come to this saving knowledge and personal belief through the presentation of the Gospel

to a lost and broken world in need of hope.

“The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 AMPC

We believe that sexuality is given to humanity as a gift for our flourishing and joy. Therefore, we maintain that sexual activity is reserved for husband and wife. Marriage is a holy monogamous union between one biological man and one biological woman. This means that man and woman are two distinct genders willed by God their Creator in their respective beings, which reflect the Image and Nature of God.

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 AMPC

We believe in the multi-faceted work of God the Holy Spirit to bring conviction of sin, revelation of the truth of the Gospel of Christ, drawing of the sinner to God, adoption of them into the Body of Christ through regeneration, and the distribution and administration of the Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life. Jesus Christ is the “baptizer in the Holy Spirit” for the empowerment of the Church.

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature together with its passions and appetites.

If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage—

our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit].” Galatians 3:22-25 AMP

We believe the local church provides purpose to its members as well as encouragement, interdependence, fellowship, correction, and discipline. The local church is a place where Christ followers gather together for edification, teaching from the Word of God, and ministry to and through each other according to their spiritual gift, in order to most effectively love our neighbors and communities for the Glory of God and advancing of Christ’s Kingdom.

“Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word]; and let us consider [thoughtfully] how we may encourage one another to love and to do good deeds, not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.” Hebrews 10:23-25 AMP

“A final word:

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to

stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies,

but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world,

against mighty powers in this dark world,

and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

Ephesians 6:10-12
