When you look at the life of a successful person and you don't know their history, it's hard to imagine them living a different life. In God Story #3, Lori Matthews gives a candid look at the woman she used to be. Lori was a "Santa Claus" kind of Christian. She was living life the world's way and only prayed for what she wanted - as if God is Santa Claus. Life was good, so she believed she must be good - and then God spilled His life-stream all over her.

In an event that can only be described as phenomenally supernatural, Lori was in Israel, overcome emotionally in a tomb, which was representative of the burial place of Christ, Lori was physically splattered in red fluid. Lori explains in this podcast/video that she was pretty much a non-practicing Christian at the time this event occurred. Getting emotional about Christ was something that surprised her. After her emotions took control, (or God used them like a burning bush to get her attention,) that's when the Life-blood of Christ poured over her like a flow of new life.

She has never been the same as her life drastically took on a new direction. Lori became the Founder/Director of Anew Living - a transitional housing facility for addicted and homeless people. Having no experience in running a nonprofit or social work, her God inspired motel had an 85% success rate for people going through the program and starting life over.

Anew Living has been turned over to the Dream Center and continues changing lives. Lori went on to be elected as a Councilwoman for the City of Flagstaff, AZ. She's currently running for a second term.

One of the most special things we can say about Lori is her tenacity and the resilience she brings to whatever she's involved in. She didn't just start a mentoring organization; she started mentoring relationships that last lifelong.

Thank you, Lori, for your God story. We know He will keep using you to tell more of His story. Jesus loves you and so do we. #ywap4Christ #bibleshortswithbiblebob #JLYASDW
